What is SAP B1

SAP Business One is a business management system for small and medium-size companies developed by a German enterprise SAP SE. As an ERP solution, it is designed to automate key business functions in finance, operations, and human resources.

The first version of the software was released in 2004. The subsequent versions were coming out approximately once a year. At the moment, the latest version is SAP Business One 10, released in 2020. For over 16 years of its existence, the product has been improved, incorporating the best business practices of the largest ERP systems vendor – SAP.

SAP Business One can be used as a single corporate system, or as the system for subsidiaries while some SAP product for large businesses is used in the headquarters.

SAP Business One includes Integration Framework that has flexible settings for integration with numerous services like corporate portal, website, POS equipment, external accounting, etc.

For integration with the most common services, there is SAP Business One Integration Hub, which includes preconfigured templates. The list below is not exhaustive and is being completed based on the feedback from the users.

The core of SAP Business One is SAP HANA 2.0 database management system, which uses innovative mechanisms of in-memory computing and provides high availability and security, also when deployed in the cloud. For users it means instant access to analytics and forecasting anytime, anywhere. This is also possible as SAP Business One is available as Android / iOS mobile applications and through a web browser.

The following reporting options are available to the users: Widgets / Indicators / Charts – are displayed on the dashboard and can be configured according to the needs of a user. A detailed description is not needed as absolutely any information that is available in the System can be displayed on the chart.

Excel-based Interactive Analysis

Excel-based Interactive Analysis – as a tool for quick and easy analysis, Microsoft Excel PivotTables with an OLAP connection to SAP Business One are used.

Analytical Portal

Analytical Portal – allows users to access relevant reports from any device without logging into SAP Business One.

HANA SQL queries. Another feature of SAP Business One is the Query Generator that is available in the standard package. Using the Query Generator even a user with a basic knowledge of SQL can create, save, and use a report without the help of an administrator.
